Aside from the friendly, respectful residents, Bartow has a line of history that make it all the more reason to live in. Bartow got it’s name from General Francis Bartow who became a martyr in the American Civil War. Once the Civil War ended, in honor of General Francis Bartow, people decided to name the city after him. Bartow allows all of it’s residents to be a part of the history by establishing various museums and homes that are much more than meets the eye. Apart from the history, there are a number of events and activities organized on a regular basis such as Fourth of July Celebrations, Winter Craft Fair, Antique Fair and Flea Market, Blooming Arts Festival, Bartow Youth Villa Classic Golf Tournament and the Light Up Bartow Christmas Parade & Promenade.
